Show Up

School board meetings are where policy actually gets decided — and where a room full of empty chairs sends its own message. Showing up, in person, still moves things that emails don't.

What to say, if you speak
  • Check the agenda ahead and register as a public speaker if the meeting allows it — most require sign-up in advance.
  • Keep it to one clear ask, under two minutes. Trustees hear a lot in one sitting.
  • Say who you are and why it matters to your community, then state the specific decision you want them to make.
  • You don't have to speak to matter — a full room of quiet attendees is still a signal.

Consider Running

These are the institutions being quietly reshaped, one seat at a time. Winning them back — school board by school board, council by council, legislature by legislature — is how we win the fight for the free world.

Filing deadlines and requirements change every election cycle and vary by city, board, and jurisdiction — always confirm with the relevant election office directly.
